Our aim at art71 is to build smart, easy-to-navigate and accessible websites. Recently there has been much discussion of Web 2.0 websites which are user-controlled but we prefer to work towards an idea of Web n.0 websites where "n" is the mathematical idea of raising the power an infinte number of times as we believe that the Web is a rapidly changing environment and Web 2.0 will rapidly become yesterday's news.

Web coding

Our site coding conforms where possible to the guidelines of the W3C World Wide Web Consortium. The underlying coding of our client websites is continuously improved to ensure that the websites operate effectively across the entire range of browsers used by users to visit the Web. Improvements in web coding and refreshing the coding helps with search engine positions.

Accessibility

We are building all our websites to exceed the requirements of the U.K. DDA Disability Discrimination Act, even for non-British websites as we believe it makes good practice. This means that we will not build websites which require Flash or other plug-in software for the main navigation or functionality of the website. We will not build websites which discriminate against screen readers by using frames or other coding which restricts access for web users of all abilities. We aim to build sites which are easy and simple to use by everyone. Current improvements include re-coding sites to be 100% fully controlled by "CSS style sheets" - this will make the websites easier to integrate in to other websites and allows users to fully control the look and appearance and size of text and graphics.

On-going development

All our website contracts include ongoing development of the site whether it be our improvements in the underlying coding or improving the appearance of the website to provide a better experience for the user of the website. We, of course, welcome all clients' feedback to help in this on-going development.

Intelligence and security

For the future, our aim within our concept of Web n.0 is to create more intelligent websites which become a powerful and useful tool for our client's business or organisation. Security issues are also critical on the Web and we are looking at building more secure functions for our client websites to ensure safe online trading.
