Current upgrades

On this page we post the latest work and improvements we are carrying out for your website.

Social networking of sites: Our aim is to give all clients the tools to add social interaction applications to their website; in effect to make websites respond more socially to users.

Changes in legislation on cookies: To comply with new legislation on cookies, changes to site to get explicit permission from users for cookies to be used to help run the website.

Mini-laptops - due to the increasing use of mini-laptops, we are modifying, where necessary, the design of sites so they appear fine on the smaller screens which these devices offer their users.

iphones/blackberrys - due to the increasing use of mobile devices to (mostly) acquire quickly easy-to-select contact information to message or phone clients, we are modifying, where necessary, the design of sites so a mobile user can find contact information within 30 seconds or less.

Page not found / sitemap - improvements to the "page not found" error screen for the website and better integration with the site map to help users and search engines.

Another attempt to reduce page size - due to the increasing use of mobile "pen" connections and iphone/blackberrys to the internet, another attempt to get the vast majority of pages below 90kB or in a coded format so they load for users on a mobile connection.

Short URLs (web addresses) - where possible, we are reducing the length of web addresses so they can be more easily used on eg Twitter and we will be using shorter client web addresses to help boost seach engine position and provide more user-friendly results on Google searches.

Email link - now that we have almost eliminated all third-party email address links from our server so our server is white-listed with all major spam directories, we will add a direct email link on all client websites where appropriate. These email links also help mobile users enormously.

Accessibility - continued steps to bring all sites in line with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 for user accessibility.
